It all started with Rebeca, a Romanian artist and designer, passionate about surfing and traveling to the most expressive corners of the world. Six years ago, she moved to Brazil, drawn by the vibrant culture, endless beaches, and the simplicity of tropical luxury. There she discovered a simple but profound truth: swimsuits can transform a mood.

Impeccable cuts, premium materials, and a rarely found variety – from bold thongs, to high-waisted shaping styles and "lipo-shape" lines that contour the silhouette – all these elements are often missing in Romania.

This is how Makala was born: a brand that brings the luxury of Brazilian swimwear into the wardrobe of women who seek more than just a simple beach outfit.

With the same intention, Rebeca also traveled to India, where she lived for a few months in the heart of textile cities. She explored storybook markets – sometimes full of camels, aromas, and intense colors – and manually selected the most natural, organic, and refined materials. From these journeys came to life unique dresses and scarves, created for your summer – with a bohemian air, discreet luxury, and the vibe of a modern goddess.
